God does not desire for Christians to be "Lone Rangers" in their faith nor to simply live a self serving faith. We are designed to do life together, serve one another and love one another as we pursue following Jesus. The Church is people, not a place. As the Church, we are called to consider the example of Jesus as we love Him and others (Philippians 2:1-8). Our adult ministries are purposeful and intentional environments which help connect us to one another as we pursue following Jesus more fully. We believe discipleship takes place best in small groups. Therefore, many of our adult ministry environments are designed with small groups in mind.
Here is a brief description of our most common adult ministries:
Community Groups
These are designed to be the primary consistent environment for our adults to connect with one another. Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly for an agreed-upon time frame. Members study and apply God's Word to life, care for one another and serve our community side by side as they do life together. In committing to a group, each person is asked to show up, join in and be real. Life really is better connected! To get connected in a group, visit our serve page here.
Target Groups
These are short-term groups (typically 6-10 weeks) designed to target a specific biblical study or life topic from a biblical perspective. Groups meet Sunday mornings and are a great way to get connected with other believers and be encouraged to live for Jesus.
Why Target Group classes?
They help us fulfill our mission by equipping people to Love, Connect, and Serve on the Journey with Christ. We value smaller pockets of community where we can dig deeper into a topic while growing in relationships with others. In all areas of our ministries at Crossroads, small groups are at the core of who we are. As we strive for personal spiritual growth in the context of the local church, we believe small groups like our Target Groups allow for discussion, learning, and transparency among participants that larger environments cannot offer.
We constantly look for ways to help equip people to become better Christ-followers. This comes through various group opportunities covering a broad spectrum of topics. We’re always encouraging personal growth within small-group contexts!
